  Minimum entry requirements:
  1. General Minimum Entry Requirements
  A candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission into a first-degree programme of the MUCE if he/she has one of the following qualifications:
  (a) Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E.) or equivalent, with passes in FIVE approved subjects THREE of which must be at credit level, obtained prior to sitting for the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent.
  AND
  (b) (i) For all Applicants except graduates of 2014 and 2015:
  Two Principal Level Passes in appropriate subjects in the A.C.S.E.E. or equivalent with total points from three subjects not below 5 for Arts programmes and 4 for Science-based programmes based on the following grade to point conversion scale:
  A = 5; B = 4; C = 3; D = 2; E = 1; S = 0.5 and F = 0 point
  The minimum Principal in this case is an 'E' grade.
  (ii) For graduates of 2014 and 2015:
  Two Principal Level Passes in appropriate subjects in the A.C.S.E.E. or equivalent with total points from three subjects not below 5 (for Arts programmes) and 4 (for Science-based programmes) based on the following grade to point conversion scale:
  A = 5; B+ = 4; B = 3; C = 2; D = 1; E = 0.5 and F = 0 point.
  The Minimum Principal in this case is a 'C' grade
  [Note: Principal Level Passes in Divinity/Islamic Knowledge are not counted]
  OR
  (c) An appropriate equivalent Diploma with a GPA not less than 3.0 for Ordinary Diplomas or B average for Teacher Education and Health Related diplomas or Distinction for unclassified awards or C grade for Full Technician Certificates or Upper Second Class for non-NTA diplomas obtained from a college which is fully registered by NACTE and approved by the UDSM Senate.

  Minimum entry requirements:
  1. Category A: Direct Entry
  - Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least three credits.
  AND
  - Must have at least two principals in A – level with at least 2.5 points or more;
  ( Where A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1, S =0.5)
  AND
  - Must have at least a pass in either English, Biology, Chemistry, History, Geography or Nutrition at “O” level
  
  2. Category B: Equivalent Entry
  - Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with three credits or five passes.

  - Second class diploma in any hospitality or tourism or any relevant field of study approved by SMMUCo
  - Must have met entry requirements at an accredited University (in the case of foreign applicants) subject to approval by NACTE or TCU and SMMUCo
  
  3. Category C: Mature Age Entry
  - Must be 25 years of age or older in the year of application.
  - Must sit and pass examination in the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) offered by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU)

They must have at least three (3) credit passes in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E O level) including English. In additional, the applicant must have scored in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (A- Level) a total of 2.5 points or more in appropriate subjects at the same sitting. The points are based on the following scale: A=5, B=4, C =3, D=2, E=1, S=0.5, F=0.
  ii) Candidates must hold a Diploma in Education Arts subjects with second-class or credit or B average standing from an institution recognized by the University and or by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).

  Admission requirement:
  Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E) or equivalent, with credits in at least three approved subjects, prior to the sitting of the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or equivalent.

  A good Diploma in relevant subjects to be approved by Tumaini University Makumira Senate. Applicants with Diploma must attach certified copies of their respective transcripts.

  Admission requirements:
  Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE): with at least two passes for HGL, HGE, HGK, HKL, or HGM or their equivalent in two of History, Geography, English, or Swahili AND Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) or its equivalent: passes in five (5) approved subjects, including two of History, Geography, English and Swahili, obtained prior to sitting for the ACSEE.
  
  An appropriate equivalent Diploma from a recognised and accredited institution with a minimum average pass of B or a minimum GPA of 3.0, or equivalent.
