Institutions Offering Higher National Diploma in Architecture

•  The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ilaro  
  This program is aimed at producing high qualified technicians capable of working for building industry and architectural profession.
  Graduates are therefore capable of performing the following tasks:
  
  (i) Making presentation drawings of architectural works and draw detailed perspective with necessary renderings and requisite colour scheme
  
  (ii) Undertaking preliminary site investigation in relation to orientation, landscape, environment, soil form, etc.
  
  (iii) Collecting information and data on simple architectural projects
  
  (iv) Writing specifications for simple projects
  
  (v) Preparing space programmes and working drawings for architectural projects
  
  (vi) Designing and preparing spatial relationship, circulation and area diagrams
  
  (vii) Developing and preparing design drawings
  
  (viii) Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications and incorporate such details in the architectural working drawings
  
  (ix) Supervising construction works and making progress reports on simple structures
  
  
  
  Course requirements:
  
  (i) Applicants must possess a National Diploma in Architecture obtained at not less than the Lower Credit level from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro or from any other Polytechnic accredited for the programme, or its recognized equivalent plus a minimum of one year post qualification relevant industrial work experience.
  
  (ii) The candidate should also request his or her institution to forward his or her official academic transcript under confidential cover to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.

  Course requirements
  (i) Applicants must possess relevant National Diploma in the proposed course as listed above
  from the Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke or any recognized Polytechnic of
  equivalent status plus at least one year post-ND Industrial work experience.
  
  In addition, applicants must satisfy all the requirements for admission into the relevant ND
  programme of choice in the Faculty of Environmental Studies, Osun State College of
  Technology, Esa Oke, which should include four (4) credits passes in GCE ‘O’Level or
  SSCE of WAEC or NECO or NTC of NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings. At
  least a pass in English language is compulsory.
  
  (ii) Applicants must possess credit passes in Mathematics and Physics, plus any two (2)
  subjects from the following: Biology, Woodwork, Chemistry, Geography, Economics,
  Commerce, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts and Business Methods.
  
  Course duration: Two years

  Admission shall be granted to holders of the qualifications below:
  
  
  (i) The National Diploma (ND) in the relevant programme with minimum of Lower Credit in the field of interest and (5) Relevant Credits at SSCE,NTC, GCE, WAEC, NECO, NBC or NABTEB level.
  
  
  
  (ii) A minimum of one (1) year Post National Diploma (ND) cognate working experience (Industrial Training).
