  Entry requirements:
  1. A candidate wishing to register for the B.A. (French) programme should posses at least five credits, two of which must be in French and English Language, and any other three credits at the SSCE level or the equivalent.
  2. The following categories of students, on fulfilling condition N0 4:I above and the conditions stated in 4ii A-C below, are accepted for the three year degree course in French.
  1. Candidate who posses at least two A’Level passes, one of which must be in English/French language
  2. Two credit passes at NCE in French
  3. Candidates with equivalent qualifications from Francophone institutions who posses at least an “O” credit in English Language
  4. Exceptionally, candidates with good passes in the Proficiency Diploma in French in French (PDF) offered by the Department.

  Admission requirements:
  Direct entry :
  i. Very good passes in three JUPEB/A’ Level
  subjects in Igbo/Yoruba and any two of
  History, CRS/IRS, French, Government, Music,
  Visual Arts and Literature-in-English.
  ii. NCE (Merit) in two subjects to include a
  Nigerian Language.
  iii. LASU Diploma in Communication Arts

  Five O/Level credit passes in
  English Language, Mathematics
  and any three Arts, Science or
  Social Sciences. Social Studies
  and Civic Education are also
  accepted

  Candidates must obtain 5 credit including English Language and Igbo Language at WASC/SSCE/GCE/NECO or O-LEVELS.
  
  Direct Entry:
  
  (i) A-Level passes in two subjects including Igbo
  (ii) NCE or ND in Igbo combination with at least merit level.
  (c)Apart from their A-level, N.C.E. or ND certificates, Direct Entry candidates must have obtained credits in English and Igbo languages at WASC/SSCE/GCE/NECO or O-LEVELS.

  Admission criteria:
  In addition to meeting the University of Ibadan entry requirements and those of the Faculty of Arts, applicants should have earned credits in five subjects including English Language and any other two Arts subjects at the Ordinary Level. Candidates should also have sat for two other Arts subjects besides English Language at UME
