At this advanced stage, students are prepared to work as technicians who are capable of executing the following tasks in the building industry:

(i) Carrying out inspection of buildings and other properties including estate roads and undertake the repairs and maintenance of works.

(ii) Preparing medium size bill of quantities for lump sum contract

(iii) Carrying out site measurements for reparation of bonus schemes for workmen and for interim and final accounts for the contractor’s claim

(iv) Designing and making working drawings of medium size building structures and interpreting working drawings of all types of building

(v) Supervising and controlling the construction of buildings from setting out to final completion

(vi) Extracting and compiling schedule of materials required for construction from architect's and engineer’s drawings

Course requirements

(a) A National Diploma in Building Technology obtained at not less than the Lower Credit level from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro or from any other Polytechnic accredited for the programme, or its recognized equivalent plus a minimum of one year post qualification relevant industrial work experience.

(b) The candidate should also request his or her institution to forward his or her official academic transcript under confidential cover to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro

Course requirements
(i) Applicants must possess relevant National Diploma in the proposed course as listed above
from the Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke or any recognized Polytechnic of
equivalent status plus at least one year post-ND Industrial work experience.

In addition, applicants must satisfy all the requirements for admission into the relevant ND
programme of choice in the Faculty of Environmental Studies, Osun State College of
Technology, Esa Oke, which should include four (4) credits passes in GCE ‘O’Level or
SSCE of WAEC or NECO or NTC of NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings. At
least a pass in English language is compulsory.

(ii) Applicants must possess credit passes in Mathematics, Physics plus any two (2)
subjects from the following: Chemistry, Geography, Government, Further
Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Building Engineering Drawing, Plumbing,
Woodwork, Metalwork, Building Construction, Bricklaying/Blocklaying/Concreting,
Joinery/Carpentry, Walls, Floors and ceiling finishing, Economics, Commerce,
Agricultural Science, Biology and Basic Electricity.

Course entry requirements
(i) A minimum of Five (5) Credit Passes in SSCE/WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O’Level obtained in subjects relevant to the Course of Study at not more than two sittings.
(ii) Graduates of Ogun State Institutes of Technology, Igbesa or Diploma Certificate from recognized polytechnics.

- with a minimum of One Calendar year Post National Diploma relevant Industrial Work Experiences (SIWES).

(ii) A minimum of one (1) year Post National Diploma (ND) cognate working experience (Industrial Training).
