    - For Programme A, any of the following are acceptable in place of Chemistry; Technical Drawing or Engineering Science and General Agriculture or Biology.
    - Applicants in this category who do not have Chemistry must obtain Grade B3 in Integrated Science.
    - For Programme I, any of the following are acceptable in place of Chemistry, Applied Electricity or Electronics.


    ‘A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS
    Entry Requirements:
    - ‘O’ Level: Credit passes in FIVE (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics, and
    - ‘A’ Level or equivalent: Either credit passes in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Physics with an ‘O’ Level credit in Chemistry, OR Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
    - For Programme (I), EITHER passes in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Physics with an ‘O ‘Level credit pass in Chemistry OR Geography OR Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Geography.
    - For programme C, credit passes in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Physics with credit in ‘Chemistry at O’ Level.


    MATURE APPLICANTS
    Entry Requirements:
    - EITHER, credit passes in Five (5) subjects at the ‘O’ Level including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, OR
    - Credit passes in THREE (3) WASSCE/SSSCE Core Subjects- English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, and credit passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
    - For Programme (I), Geography is acceptable in place of Chemistry.
    - For Programme E. Applicants must have at least THREE (3) years working experience.


    HND APPLICANTS
    Entry Requirements:
    - For programme K, applicants shall have at least Second Class Honours from any accredited Computer Engineering oriented programme such as Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
    - In the case of programme M, applicants shall have at least Second Class Honours from any accredited Biomedical Engineering oriented programme such as Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Medical Technology.
    - Admission would be based on assessment of Academic Transcript.
    - Applicants must satisfy the requirements for either WASSCE/SSSCE or ‘A’ Level as in (1.0) and (2.0) respectively.

    Course entry requirements:
    -Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): Compulsory Subjects - Grade D or better in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) and Elective Subjects – Grade D or better in three (3) elective subjects. The two electives should be science subjects. For Non-science students, elective mathematics is required.
    -West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): Compulsory Subjects - Grade C6 or better in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) and Elective Subjects – Grade C6 or better in three (3) elective subjects. The two electives should be science subjects. For Non-science students, elective mathematics is required.
    - Applicants within the West African Examination Council zone with Pure Science background, who do not offer Integrated Science, but may wish to apply for Computer Science are required to apply with four (4) Elective subjects (this should include the required grades in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, or Elective Mathematics) for the fourth to be replaced as substitute for Integrated Science.
    -General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level: Passes in three (3) subjects including Mathematics and/or Science (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject for Science students.
    -HND holders in Computer Science from recognized institutions with at least Second Class Lower Division may be considered for admission into level 200 or 300 in their area of specialization depending on the subjects passed. The applicant must have acquired a two-year post HND qualification working experience.

    -Diploma or other certificates from recognized institutions assessed to be equivalent to (1), (2) or (3) may be considered for admission.

    (a) WASSCE/NECO
    -Minimum C6 in 6 subjects including 3 core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated/General Science) and 3 elective subjects. (Physics, Elective Mathematics + Chemistry OR any other elective relevant to the chosen Program)

    (b) SSSCE
    -Minimum D or a pass in 6 subjects including 3 core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated/General Science) and 3 elective subjects. (Physics, Elective Mathematics + Chemistry OR any other elective relevant to the chosen Program)

    (b) IGCSE O Level and A Level
    -Minimum of 5 credit passes in the IGCSE/O-Levels (Mathematics and English mandatory) and 3 passes in the A-Levels. (Elective/Add/Further Mathematics and Physics mandatory).

    (c) English International Baccalaureate
    -Minimum of 5 credit passes in the IGCSE/O-Levels (Mathematics and English mandatory) and a minimum score of 4 points in 3 Higher Level (HL) subjects. (Elective/Add/Further Mathematics and Physics mandatory)

    (d) French International Baccalaureate
    -Minimum of 50% overall average pass. (subject to approval NAB) Mathematics, English and Physics mandatory

    Since the 2007/2008 academic year, the University of Ghana has ceased to admit applicants with the West African Examination Council’s Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificates

    All Applicants must take note that the process for admission to the University of Ghana is very transparent. Applicants should therefore beware of any persons who may approach them on the pretext of assisting them gain admission for a fee.
