  Applicants are expected to hold any of the qualifications below:
  
  (i) Applicants must have passed Biology or Biological Sciences in the K.S. C. E. at the minimum grade of B-.OR
  
  (ii) In addition the student must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements:-
  Either: Must have passed any two subjects from the following alternatives at the grades
  shown:
  
  (a) Alternative A: Chemistry C+, Physics C, Mathematics C, Geography B-, English C+.
  
  (b) Alternative B: Physical Science B-, Mathematics C, Geography B-, English C+, Agriculture B-. OR
  
  (iii) Have a minimum of 2 principle passes, one of which must be Biology in the Kenya
  Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) or equivalent.OR
  
  
  (iv) Have a minimum of C plain at KCSE and a Diploma in Forestry, Education
  (Biology, Agriculture), Applied Biology, Wildlife or Wetlands and with at least a credit
  pass from an institution recognized by the University Senate.OR
  
  (v) Mean grade of C- (minus) at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at
  Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.OR
  
  (vi) Have any other qualification accepted by the University Senate.

  Admission Requirements:
  Registration as candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology shall be permitted only for those who satisfy the prescribed minimum University general admission requirements. In addition to meeting the minimum University general admission requirements, candidates for the Bachelor of Science in Biology degree programme must have any of the following:
  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum mean grade of C+ or equivalent qualifications, and a minimum of C+ in Biology or Biological Sciences and C+ in any other two science subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Physical Sciences, Geography and Mathematics.
  2. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) with at least two Principal level passes one of which must be in Biology and the other in any other science subject from the following: Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Physics.
  3. Ordinary/Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Biology or Biological Sciences with a credit pass or equivalent qualification.
  4. A degree from a recognized university, or equivalent qualifications.
  
  
•  Machakos University, Machakos  
  Course Entry Requirements:
  -KCSE Mean Grade C+ (Plus) or equivalent with at least B-(Minus) in Biology/ Biological.
  
  In addition, the student must satisfy any of the following minimum requirement.
  -Alternative A: Chemistry C+, Physics C (Plain), Mathematics C (plain), Geography B- (minus), English C+ (plus)
  -Alternative B: Physical Science B- (minus), Mathematics C(plain), Geography B- (minus), English C+ (plus), Agriculture B- (minus)
  -KCSE mean grade of C (plain) and a Diploma in Forestry, Education (Biology, Agriculture), Applied Biology, Wildlife or Wetlands with at least a credit pass from an institution recognized by the University senate.
  -Mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Machakos University or any other recognized/accredited institution.
  
  Course Duration: 4 years

  Course entry requirements:
  -Mean grade C+ in KCSE with at least C+ in Biol, C in Chem and C in Math, OR Diploma in Biological Sciences or related disciplines with at least a credit from Senate-recognized institutions
