•  The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ilaro  
  Higher National Diploma in Surveying and Geo Informatics prepares students to becoming technicians capable of performing the following functions:
  
  (i) Carrying out small and large scale mapping of any terrain
  
  (ii) Developing a detailed topographic information system
  
  (iii) Using all geospatial data processing and presentation software
  
  (iv) Developing a Geographic Information System [GIS], geo-database systems, and data modelling
  
  
  (v) Understanding the theory of acquisition, analysis, fusion, compression and visualisation of spatially referenced data
  
  (vi) Interpreting all forms of spatial measurements sources
  
  (vii) Prepare project costing and estimate
  
  (viii) Carryout digital image processing
  
  (ix) Carryout monitoring and deformation studies on earth-based structures
  
  
  Entry requirements
  
  (i) Applicants are required to have a National Diploma in Surveying and Geo Informatics obtained at not less than the Lower Credit level from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro or from any other Polytechnic accredited for the programme, or its recognized equivalent plus a minimum of one year post qualification relevant industrial work experience.
  
  (ii) The candidate should also request his or her institution to forward his or her official academic transcript under confidential cover to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.

  Course requirements
  (i) Applicants must possess relevant National Diploma in the proposed course as listed above
  from the Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke or any recognized Polytechnic of
  equivalent status plus at least one year post-ND Industrial work experience.
  
  In addition, applicants must satisfy all the requirements for admission into the relevant ND
  programme of choice in the Faculty of Environmental Studies, Osun State College of
  Technology, Esa Oke, which should include four (4) credits passes in GCE ‘O’Level or
  SSCE of WAEC or NECO or NTC of NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings. At
  least a pass in English language is compulsory.
  
  (ii) Applicants must possess credit passes in Mathematics, Physics and any other two (2)
  subjects from the following: Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing,
  Fine Arts, Statistics, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Biology, Agricultural
  Science, and Basic Surveying.

  To qualify, applicants should have:
  
  
  (i) The National Diploma (ND) in Surveying and Geo Informatics with minimum of Lower Credit in the field of interest and (5) Relevant Credits at SSCE,NTC, GCE, WAEC, NECO, NBC or NABTEB level.
  
  
  
  (ii) A minimum of one (1) year Post National Diploma (ND) cognate working experience (Industrial Training).
