Admission requirements:
2.1 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Applicants:
The Senior secondary School or the School Certificate/General Certificate of Education (SC/GCE) ordinary level credit passes in five subjects including English language, mathematics and economics.
(b Grade II Teacher's Certificate with credit/merit passes in at least five subjects including English language, mathematics and economics.
(c)An acceptable score in the UTME as may be determined by the University from time to time.

2.2 Direct Entry Applicants:
Applicants must posses the following minimum qualifications:
(a)Five credit passes in GCE (or equivalent) examination at not more than two sittings with at least two passes at the Advanced ('A') level GCE.

(b)Five credit passes in GCE (or equivalent) at least three of which must be at the 'A' level.

Note:
In any cases of (a) and (b) above, no subject is counted at both levels of the examinations.

(c) An acceptable Credit passes in BSU Diploma in the relevant field as may be determined by BSU from time to time plus GCE 'O' Level or equivalent in English Language, Economics and Mathematics.
2.3 General
(a)Candidates must have attained the age of sixteen (16) years on or before the beginning of the academic year of entry into the University.

(b)Candidates seeking admission into the University must first of all apply to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

(c)Applicants offered provisional admissions in the University will be required to submit to the Academic Office for scrutiny originals of all certificates and evidence of age qualification.

Admission requirements:
At least credit passes in five subjects at Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSCE), (or equivalent in General Certificate of Education, GCE O/L or West African School Certificate W.A.S.C. or at least five merit passes in TC II) which should, in all cases, include English Language, Mathematics, Economics or any Social Science subject, obtained in not more than two sittings. In addition:
The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME must be in Use of English, Mathematics, Economics or Business Methods and any other Social Science subject. Plus:
An acceptable mark at the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

UME Entry:
Minimum of Credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Economics at not more than two sittings in SSCE/NECO/GCE (O/L)

Direct Entry:
Direct entry candidates must possess five Credit passes in the GCE or equivalent examination, at least two of which shall be at Advanced Level or four Credit passes, at least three of which shall be at the Advanced Level provided that same subjects are not counted at both Levels of examinations. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level must include English Language and Mathematics. Also, either of O’ Level or A’ Level Credit passes must include economics.

Applicants are required to have taken the 2016 JAMB examinations with a score of 140 and above.
