  Course entry requirements:
  i. Candidates must satisfy matriculation requirement of the University including mathematics and English language.
  ii. Candidate must have a minimum of second class (lower division) Bachelor’s degree in social work from an approved university, or a postgraduate diploma with a CGPA of not lower than 3.5 on a 5-point scale, or its equivalent, from an accredited university.
  iii. Candidates with a PGD at credit level pass (i.e. 3.5 on a 5point scale) or 60% on weighted percentage average.
  
  Course duration:
  A full-time runs for a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters. The part-time programme runs for a minimum of six semesters and a maximum of eight semesters. For extension beyond the specified maximum period, special permission of the Board of School of Postgraduate Studies shall be required.

  Entry Requirements:
  Candidates for M.Sc. in either Sociology or Social Works must possess at least a Second Class Upper Division in Bachelor’s degree examinations. In very exceptional cases, a candidate with a Second Class Lower division in the bachelor’s examinations may be considered with a minimum CGPA of 3.00. Candidates for MSSW, a Second Class Degree Lower Division obtained in any discipline from a recognized University is required.
