    -A relevant Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in a relevant discipline in Science (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics) or an appropriate NQF level 8 qualification.
    -A “professional” Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 96 credits at Level 8 or a cognate Postgraduate Diploma with demonstrable knowledge of basic principles of Computing, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability, and Statistics may also be recognised as meeting the minimum entry requirement to the Master of Science (e-Science) degree programme.
    -Ad eundem gradum students should submit a portfolio of satisfactory evidence of their suitability for admission into the degree to the Head of Department.
    -Students should have at least 65% of all the courses completed in their NQF level 8 qualification.
    -Candidates with less than 65%, who have relevant Industry/professional experience, will be considered upon recommendation from the Head of Department.
    -University’s Policy governs RPL admissions on Recognition of Prior Learning.
    -In addition to the above, admission is dependent upon the supervision capacity of the department in terms of the availability of a supervisor.

    Entry Requirements:
    - A Bachelor of Science with Honours from Wits or another university
    - A graduate of this or another university who holds a degree in another faculty whose curriculum has ordinarily extended over not less than four academic years of full-time study.

    Applicants are required to have a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree from a relevant discipline in Science (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics) or a relevant NQF level 8 qualification or a relevant Professional Engineering Degree with demonstrable knowledge of basic principles of Computing, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics.

    Applicants require a minimum of 65 percent in their NQF level 8 qualification and fulfil any additional institutional application requirements of the institution through which they are applying, and must be co-approved by the Consortium.

    Admission Requirements:
    Honours degree in either statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics, or related fields
    Demonstrable knowledge of basic principles of probability and statistics, computing, calculus and linear algebra or an admission examination may be required
    A weighted average of at least 65% at final-year level, but students with a weighted average of 70% or more will receive preference.

    Selection Process:
    A limited number of students will be admitted collectively over the consortium (6 at the University of Pretoria)
    Performance during prior studies will be considered in selecting students. Specific attention will be given to modules repeated and duration of study.

    Duration of study:
    2 years, full-time.
