•  National University of Malaysia, Selangor  
  Intake Information:
  Intake for the course work mode and mixed mode programmes are open twice a year, which is every October until November (for the next year February intake) and every April until May (for the September intake). Application for research mode programmes can be made any time throughout the year.
  
  Mode of Study: Research Only
  
  Entry Requirements:
  A person who wishes to apply for admission to the Doctorate programme shall possess the following qualification:
  1. Masters Degree from the University or any higher learning institution recognised by the Senate; or
  2. Other qualifications equivalent to a Masters Degree or having other qualifications with experience recognised by the Senate; or
  3. A candidate who is currently attending a full time Masters programme under paragraph 6(1) (a) in the University and is certified by the Faculty Graduate Studies Committee/Centre for Graduate Management to convert his status to a Doctorate programme with the approval of Dean of the Faculty/Director of the Institute; or
  4. Bachelor’s Degree with excellent results from the University or any higher learning institution recognised by the Senate; or
  5. Other qualifications recognised by the Senate obtained through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) or through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL); and
  6. Fulfills other requirements prescribed by the programme (where applicable).
  
  ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
  An international candidate is required to fulfill the English Language proficiency
  requirements as follows:
  -Obtained TOEFL (550), IELTS (6) or MUET (4) results which fulfil the score or minimum band requirements prescribed by the programme; or
  For certain programmes, a candidate is required to sit for an English Proficiency Test (EPT) and if he/she fails to achieve the level specified by the programme, the candidate is required to attend and pass the English Proficiency Module (EPM) in a maximum period of two (2) semesters before he is allowed to register for the study programme. The candidate shall register as a Non-Graduating Student.
  -The Faculty/Institute may grant exemption to the requirements specified in sub-regulation (1) for the international candidate who:
  will be writing his/her thesis/dissertation in the Malay/ Arabic languages;
  has the academic qualifications obtained from any local universities recognised by the Senate; or
  is originally from a country where English is the official language or he/she has the academic qualifications obtained from any higher learning institution which uses English as the medium of instruction.
  - The candidate may be exempted from the requirements stated in sub-regulation (2), but the candidate shall sit for the English Proficiency Test (EPT) and if he/she fails to obtain the level specified by the programme, the candidate is required to attend and pass the English Proficiency Module (EPM).
•  Sultan Azlan Shah University(Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah), Kuala Kangsar  
  Course entry requirements:
  (i) Master’s Degree in Psychology (MQF, Level 7) or;
  (ii) Other qualifications recognised as equivalent to a Master’s Degree (MQF, Level 7) approved by the HEP Senate
  
  NOTE:
  -No direct admission from Bachelor’s Degree level (MQF, Level 6) to Doctoral Degree level;
  -Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree level (MQF, Level 6) who register for the Master’s Degree level programme (MQF, Level 7) can apply for a conversion of registration to a Doctoral Degree programme within 1 year after registering for the Master’s Degree programme subject to the following criteria;
  (a) Has demonstrated competence and ability in conducting research at the Doctoral Degree level;
  (b) Rigorous internal assessment by HEP
  
  English Competency Requirements For International Students:
  Obtain at least;
  -International Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 5.0; or
  -Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (Internet based) with a minimum score of 34; or
  -Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) with a minimum score of 160; or
  -Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with a minimum score of 180; or
  -Pearson Test of English, Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum score of 36; orStudents from English-speaking countries are given an exemption from the above condition (a); or
  -Students from English-speaking countries are given an exemption from the above condition (a); or
  -Students with academic qualifications from Institutions that use English as the medium of instruction are given full exemption from the above condition (a).
  
  Course duration:
  (i) Full-Time : 3 – 5 years
  (ii) Part-Time : 3 – 7 years
•  University of Nottingham Malaysia, Semenyih  
  Course entry requirements:
  -A master’s degree or a master of philosophy degree, plus at least an upper second class honours degree (or international equivalent) in psychology or related disciplines. Non-UK qualifications will be assessed against this standard.
  
  Or
  
  -A first class honours degree (or international equivalent) in psychology or related disciplines. Non-UK qualifications will be assessed against this standard.
  
  -Applicants must have graduated from an approved university. Other equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  
  English language requirements:
  IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in each element)
  
  TOEFL (iBT): 87 (minimum 20 in Speaking and 19 in all other elements)
  PTE (Academic): 71 (with no less than 65 in each element)
  MUET: Band 4
  
  IELTS, TOEFL and PTE (Academic) test results must be less than two years old and all IELTS must be the academic version of the test. MUET results are valid for five years from the date of the release of results.
  
  Course duration:
  6-8 years-Part time
  2-4 years-Full time
  
  Intake: February, April, June and September
•  Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Kuala Lumpur  
  Course entry requirements:
  -A Master's Degree (MQF, Level 7) in Psychology; OR
  -Other relevant or equivalent qualification, experience and requirement accepted by the Senate/ competent authority in Malaysia.
  
  
  English Language Requirements
  
  (i) Malaysian Students
  -MUET Band 3.0 or IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1 or TOEFL iBT 42 or equivalent ; OR
  -Exemption of English Language requirement if medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
  
  (ii) International Students
  -IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1 or TOEFL iBT 42 or equivalent ; OR
  -Exemption of English Language requirement if medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
  
  Course duration:
  -Full time (Malaysian and International students) - 3 years
  
  -Part time (Malaysian students ONLY) - 4 years
  
  Intake: Rolling Intake (throughout the year)
  
•  Lincoln University College, Petaling Jaya  
  Course entry requirements:
  -Master of Psychology (Level 7 MOH); or
  -Other equivalent or relevant qualifications, experience and conditions accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate/competent authority in Malaysia.
  Note:
  
  No direct entry from Bachelor’s Degree to Doctoral Degree.
  Candidates who register for the Master’s degree program with a minimum CGPA of 3.67 may apply for the doctorate program to change the standard of education, depending on:
  a. Competence and ability in conducting research at the Doctoral Degree level.
  b. Approval of the Lincoln University College Senate.
  
  Course duration: 3 years
•  International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur  
  Entry Requirements:
  1.Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the relevant discipline with good grades from institutions recognized by the Senate of the University.
  
  2.Master’s degree in relevant discipline or its equivalent with good grades.
  
  3.Arabic and English proficiency levels at the following minimum score:
  TOEFL (Paper Based) : 550
  IELTS : Band 6
