Duration:
1. Firstly, 1 year (full-time - evening programme), for candidates with background studies in Social Work, who will study the programme for two semesters, whereby the first semester shall cover course work and the Field Practicum, and the second semester, research/dissertation.
2. Secondly, 18 months (full-time evening programme), for candidates whose first degree is not in Social Work), will study the MSW programme for 18 months.
Minimum entry requirements:
- Applicants to the MSW programme are required to have Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Advanced Diploma in Social Work (ADSW) from recognized Universities/ Colleges, with an upper second class score or above.
- Applicants to the MSW programme (Foundation), are required to have any Bachelor Degree from any recognized Universities/ Colleges, with an upper second class score or above.
- In exceptional cases, applicants with Lower Second Class Degree in Social Work may be considered for admission of the MSW programme, upon submission of a three years working experience in social care settings.

1. Good first degree in social work (Bachelors in Social Work) with at least upper second class
2. Applicants with an advanced diploma from a recognized higher learning institution with an upper second class will be admitted
3. Candidates with post graduate diploma in social work will have an added advantage
4. Candidate with no social work background (first degree in social work) will have to undergo a one year post graduate diploma before they are admitted into Masters of Social Work.

Admission criteria
(i) One year program
-Advanced Diploma / Bachelor degree in Social Work with 2.7 GPA or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work. The applicants in this category will only be required to undertake the Advanced Modules that carry 120 credits.
(ii) Two year program
-Advanced Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences preferably, Community Development, Sociology, Health Sciences, Psychology, Education, and any other related discipline with 2.7 GPA. In addition, Applicants in this category (Without Social Work background) will be required to undertake both Foundation and Advanced Modules that carry 260 credits.
