Institutions Offering Master of Public Health

•  University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nsukka  
  Course entry requirements:
  -Applicants must hold a degree in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary medicine from a recognized university or have a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (second class lower) on a 5-point scale in the biological and health related sciences from the University of Nigeria
  or any other University approved by senate. A selection test will be necessary for candidates before admission into the programme. Public health-related work or research experience will be an added advantage. Candidates who are considered unable to undertake the programme will be advised to change to other courses.
  
  Course duration:
  Full-time students shall spend a minimum of 2 calendar years and maximum of 3 calendar years.
  Part-time students shall spend a minimum of 36 calendar months and maximum of 5 years.
•  Lagos State University, Lagos  
  Course entry requirements:
  a. Applicants must possess O’ level credits passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology,Chemistry and Physics.
  b. All applicants must have completed the NYSC programme or show proof of exemption.
  c. A first degree in Science courses (medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, B.Sc Health Education and any other qualifications that may be
  approved by the Postgraduate School) with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower
  d. Candidates without University degrees should obtain a Postgraduate Diploma prior to application.
  e. All candidates should have a minimum of three years relevant post-qualification experience before applying.
  
  Course duration: Minimum of 4 semesters and maximum of 6 semesters
•  University of Jos, Jos  
  Entry Requirements:
  The MPH programme is open to graduates with first degree in relevant science based courses with minimum CGPA of 3.0 from the University of Jos or any other institution recognized by the Senate of the University of Jos.
  
  The candidate must possess other entry requirements of the University of science-based Disciplines. Basic admission requirements set by University of Jos for Master’s Degree courses including a minimum of five credits in relevant subject at school certificate level.
•  Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja  
  Course entry requirements:
  -The class of degree acceptable is at least 2nd class lower in the case of Bachelor of Science degrees.
  -All candidates must have at least three years of post-qualification and cognate experience in Medicine or health-related activities.
  -In addition, the candidate must conform to other entry requirements for a master’s degree from the Nile University of Nigeria.
  -There shall be a screening examination for shortlisted candidates.
