Institutions Offering Ph.D in Development Studies

•  University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nsukka  
  Admission criteria:
  The following are eligible for admission:
  (i) Holders of M.Sc. in Development Studies or Social Sciences with a CGPA of 4.0 on a 5- point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale obtained from the University of Nigeria or other recognized universities. Satisfactory research work must be part of the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree.
  (ii) Holders of the degree of Masters with minimum grades as stated in (i) above in Business/Management Studies, Humanities, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Economics or as determined by the Faculty Board, may qualify for the M.Sc./Ph.D. admission option. This implies two years of course-work as opposed to one year coursework requirement for those admitted directly to Ph.D.
  
  Course duration:
  A full -time Ph.D. programme shall run for:
  (i) a minimum of 6 semesters; and
  (ii) a maximum of 10 semesters.
  
  A part-time Ph.D. programme shall run for:
  (iii) a minimum of 8 semesters and;
  (iv) a maximum of 12 semesters
